Cable ONE vs Viacom

Description

I will tell you a story.  Cable ONE and Viacom could not agree about a contract price for service and Cable ONE dropped 15 of Viacom's channels.  Now it hasn't ever affected my ability to watch things on the internet and Cable ONE is a good company.  Now I'm not going to take sides here but I find it curious that things are so selectively blocked when previously I didn't have any blocks at all.  Now the timing of this is all very suspicious.   You see while full episodes are not blocked on Comedy Central but many Nick videos full episodes are blocked, clips are fine.  AND  Legend of Korra is going pure digital soon:  korranation.tumblr.com/post/92…

Now when I called Cable ONE about what happened with the blocks and they say they aren't doing it.  Of course they'd say that but I believe them.  To block it would be suicide.  And Viacom doesn't like free content on the net.  Youtube is a great example of this.  Now my access to videos is being blocked very selectively?  This reminds me of something... And I think this is it:  youtu.be/fpbOEoRrHyU?t=3m55s .  Especially seeing as Cable ONE is only in 19 states where as Comcast is in 40 and Time Warner is in 39.  Now I know the point of the video is to keep Cable providers from mob shaking down other service providers, but this is the principle going the other way.  Cable ONE has excellent customer service and actually do what they say they will.  So if they say they'll show up between 2 and 6 tomorrow afternoon, YES, with this company I do expect them to turn up.  You see Cable ONE wanted to keep the price down and stay competitive with the satellite providers in the area, and Viacom will not flinch on the price it wants.  Now I figure there is more on both sides than I can investigate but I have a good history with Cable ONE and have been aggravated with Viacom.  But I find it suspicious they are trying to push to DISH Network.  I like Dish because of my Dad, but I don't like this SELECTIVE blocking happening here.  It is "Comcast/Netflix" in reverse.

Viacom: "Oh, Cable ONE.  You don't want to pay out contract?  Wouldn't it be so frustrating if your customers started flooding you with calls about how they can't watch their favorite, or their kids favorite shows on our websites?  What do you think would happen there if they thought you wouldn't let them do it?"

This basically feels like Viacom, on THEIR side of the fence,  is trying to frustrate Cable ONE customers into switching so that they can get the money they want and screw the guys who don't want to pay their price.  Now I'm irritated about this but I have options even if I don't like them.  However, in the argument of "pay for better service" "Net Neutrality" "Cable Company Fuckery" argument, this is very interesting evidence.  I don't know when the time to write the petition runs out, but if you can write the FCC to tell them to not do it, TELL THEM or you'll be going through this too.
